Sometimes I feel like I’d be much happier if I didn’t sleep so much.

I spend a significant proportion of my free time sleeping, and I often blame it on depression. But what if I’m depressed because I sleep all the time, and don’t do anything with my days? I don’t know, man.

Sometimes I just see people out and about doing things during the day, like sitting in a park, or going for a walk. Or I think about how I’d operate my household. Just little things like when the dishes get done, or laundry day, or what I’d cook for dinner, or even just fantasise about keeping my room clean, or reading more.

But then I’m like “I’ll do it when I grow up”, but I AM grown up now. It’s just like I spend all my time thinking and wishing but not actually DOING, and I don’t know why I just can’t fucking DO stuff.

I want to be productive and happy and LIVE, but I’m stuck in this loop of “I’ll do it when…” I just can’t seem to start anything and I don’t want to be stuck like this forever. I just really need someone to kick my arse, I suppose.

My family won’t do it because they taught me to be this way. My whole life, we’ve been nocturnal, with the exception of going to school. Now that exception is going to work. It’s the only time I’m out during the day. If I don’t have to work, I sleep until 3pm or later. Then I do nothing because I think “It’s too late in the day to start anything.” But then I’m up all night anyway.

I even find it difficult to do things I enjoy these days. Every second I’m awake, I’m just thinking about when I get to sleep next.
